The empty centre (the ‘negative space’) is feminine in shape; the movement of the lines of the sculpture is the wind. This movement suggests how the breeze can stir a strand of hair or catch her clothes and wrap them to her form. It gives the sculpture an appealing softness and femininity.
A subtle idea expressed as an accomplished and sophisticated sculpture – this really has the wow factor! It’s definitely one of our personal favourites in this year’s collection.

Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is suitable for outdoor display, as it is dense and impermeable and has very few flaws that might be exacerbated by frost action. All colouration and texture within the stone is entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
We have drilled into the base of this piece, as we do for most of our larger sculptures. We can also supply a suitable pin.
