Swimming Back

Avocado Serpentine

A duckling separated from its mother paddles back to her. Its head is raised, making sure it doesn’t lose sight of her again.

This charming little bird sculpture is tremendous value for a unique work of art, and a fine example of our belief that we should provide art of the highest quality for all budgets.

Peter normally finishes his work with a rasp that leaves the surface white and textured, but that would prevent us from being able to see the grass-green depth of colour of the stone, so Peter has chosen to sand and wax it in its entirety.

Unsurprisingly, this hard variety of serpentine stone has been named ‘avocado’ after its striking green and yellow colouration. The colours in the stone are entirely natural, enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
