“Her breast swells with happiness as she watches her lovely babies. The little chicks move around a lot and she is always delighted to see them return to her. Day by day, she watches them grow, whilst giving them a mother’s love and protection.”

This elegant stork mother looks down to the ground – we have to imagine the little ones running at her feet and the tenderness of her glance.

Peter has made us three tall sculptures this year. His other tall artworks are My Wedding Day and Shyness.

It would make a super focal point in a garden. Our tip: use a spotlight to pick out the matt white surface, so it really stands out at night as well!

Peter achieves the brushed effect of the feathers by stroking the stone with a blunt rasp. By contrast, the shiny parts have been sanded smooth, heated and clear wax applied, then buffed up to a shine.
