Peter had two interpretations for this piece: one, that the movement within the sculpture follows the melody as it rises and falls and swirls around, and a second alternative view that sees the middle loop as an ear, with the vertical parts being the music flowing in. Both ideas can sit together in tandem.
Peter’s work is a combination of complexity and simplicity. He manages to create a twisting, twirling movement while keeping the finishing very clean. The result is an intriguing sculpture combined with great technical ability. He is one of Guruve’s most popular artists.
Amazingly, Peter creates each one of his sculptures from a single solid raw stone.
Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is dense and impermeable, with very few flaws that might be vulnerable to frost action. Therefore, it is suitable for outdoor display. This piece would make a lovely focal point in a round flowerbed, perhaps – particularly for someone who loves music!
The piece is in the UK and will be shipped from there (for international clients); P&P at buyer’s expense.
