The three small loops represent family members: the top one is the father, the middle is the mother and the lower one their child. The stone that connects them represents the connection between the parents and also between the parents and their first child. The movement up from the base is the family growing together, healthy and successful. There are two upward stems: one is the parents and second their children (including those yet to come as the family expands).

This stunning sculpture is one of the outstanding pieces from our purchases in Zimbabwe this year. It’s one of the finest works from Peter we’ve ever seen, truly a masterpiece. It has height and presence, and it is substantial yet elegant. It would make a super centrepiece for a garden, particularly given the truly 360° nature of the sculpture. Wonderful!

Amazingly, Peter creates each one of his sculptures from a single solid piece of raw stone.

Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone.  It is dense and impermeable with very few flaws that might be exacerbated by frost action.  Therefore, it is suitable for outdoor display.

[Please note that the granite slab in the photo is not included. However, we do have some circular slabs in sparkly black or pale grey available for sale – please enquire if you’re interested.]
