The top loops represent the mother, the smaller loop below her is the child. The twists indicate the mother moving around her child, playing with her and protecting her.

This stunning sculpture is the tallest piece from our purchases in Zimbabwe this year. It’s a super example of Peter’s work; it has height and presence, but it is slender and elegant.

It’s said that the best abstract sculpture has no front and back, but instead has interest from every angle. Certainly, that’s the case for this piece; therefore, it would make a super centrepiece for a garden, as it needs to be walked around to truly appreciate the work involved. Amazingly, Peter creates each one of his sculptures from a single solid piece of raw stone.

Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is dense and impermeable with very few flaws that might be exacerbated by frost action.  Therefore, it is suitable for outdoor display.

[Please note that the granite slab in the photo is not included. However, we do have some circular slabs in sparkly black or pale grey available for sale.]
