Many of Sylvester’s sculptures are inspired by Shona culture and customs. As a result, they can give us interesting insights into how Zimbabwean society works.
Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is the favoured medium for Zimbabwe’s most famous sculptors.
