Burning Bush

Springstone (Serpentine)

Timothy was inspired by the biblical story of Moses’ vision of an angel in the flames:

“… the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush […] behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.” (Ex 3.2)

Timothy impressed us greatly with this stunning sculpture. It’s elegant and powerful, and would make a perfect garden centrepiece, as it’s different from every angle.

Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It’s impermeable and suitable for outdoor display. This particular variety comes from Impinge in the Great Dyke serpentine formation in northern Zimbabwe. It has tiny pale crystals that catch the light and glitter.

[Please note that the granite slab in the photo is not included. However, we do have some circular slabs in sparkly black or pale grey available for sale.]
