“A person is born with his talent. People can say, ‘This it doesn’t surprise us’ after he realises his dreams at maturity, because from his childhood they have seen that that person is talented.”
On the piece, the bottom circle shows the person growing up, until they reach maturity (shown by the top circle). The middle part shows the talent all through from childhood up to maturity.
This is a fantastic medium-sized sculpture, with interest from every angle. As with all Tonderai’s sculptures, this piece has been carved by hand from a single piece of raw stone. All colouration and texture within the stone are entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
Springstone is the local name for a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is a particularly good medium for Tonderai’s technically challenging sculptures, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock with very few flaws.
This piece is in the UK and will be shipped from there; P&P at buyer’s expense.
