“The swirls indicate a person who is moving around, manoeuvring in their life. There are obstacles in his path, and he has to find the right way to get to the top.”

The movement of the sculpture traces the path of someone’s life, upwards from birth. The swirls show their path hasn’t been easy, that they have tried different options on their way to the top, which indicates success.

A really substantial work from Willard: it’s truly a masterpiece. It has height, width and presence; it is elegant and fluid yet substantial; and it would make a super centrepiece for a garden or courtyard, particularly given the truly 360° nature of the sculpture. Wonderful!

This is a new type of avocado serpentine stone, recently discovered, and has the most interesting and beautiful texture and colouration. The yellow-green serpentine is shot through with sprays of a clear hard crystalline substance, probably quartz or a related mineral. All lines within the stone are natural, including the black lines which may be some iron-rich mineral.

[Please note that the granite slab in the photo is not included. However, we do have some circular slabs available for sale – please enquire if you’re interested.]
