The lines of the sculpture twist together to form a knot. The continuous flow of the lines means the knot now formed cannot be undone.

Willard’s use of simple flowing lines keeps the sculpture feeling fluid and uncluttered. Such simplicity lets us enjoy the elegant form of the piece and the incredible internal colour and texture of the stone.

This is a new type of the yellow-green ‘avocado serpentine‘, which has only recently been discovered. It has the most fascinating and beautiful texture and colouration.

A hard crystalline substance, probably a quartz-related mineral, appears within the serpentine. It gives the stone a snakeskin-like appearance in places.

All lines within the stone are natural, including the black lines which may be some iron-rich mineral – they are not cracks or lines of weakness.
