“The idea was ‘when opportunity knocks’ – seize the day when a chance presents itself.”

The piece is small now, but wide, so each loop shows big potential to grow upwards and outwards into great things. If you have hidden stores of talent and energy, then when opportunity arises you can make the most of the situation, make the best of yourself.

A fantastic medium-sized sculpture from Willard, our most popular artist. It’s a happy marriage of lovely flowing organic movement with the fascinating internal colour and texture of the stone itself.

This variety of ‘leopard rock’ serpentine comes from northern Zimbabwe near Willard’s home. It is very hard and impermeable, so it’s suitable for outdoor display even in temperate climates.

The colours in the stone are entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax. Even the green veins, with their crystalline structure, are part of the natural stone. They give the stone a snakeskin-like appearance.

Imperial measurements are: 23″ (h) x 21″ (w) x 17″ (d) and 141lbs
