“A king, rolling out successive movements, growing their territory and strength.”
From a small base, the lines of movement come in waves, expanding in all directions.
Kings ruled the Shona people of Zimbabwe until colonialism tore down their traditional power structures. A strong king would have fought to overcome neighbouring territories to increase his wealth and influence.
This lovely sculpture is interesting from every angle, so it would work well as a central focal point in a small space.
As an original and unique work of art, it’s also great value for money – and it would also make a super gift.
It’s signed by the artist and accompanied by Guruve’s certificate of authenticity. In addition, we provide a copy of Willard’s biography with a photo of him with this piece. There’s also a brief history of the Shona sculpture movement.
