“When people are working together, they help each other and enjoy the fruitful results.”

Willard is articulating how the lines and the circles represent teamwork and joint effort. Some of lines go through the circles, appearing to wander randomly; some join together and carry on. Willard sees them as mirroring the movements of individual people. When they come together and move in same direction, the lines represent people with a shared goal working together on a project. The circles at the top are the benefits they share in success. We are social beings, and we get further in life by working together.

Willard was one of Guruve’s most popular artists last year, and his collection for this year is really impressive. It’s not only the fluid movement he imbues into his organic forms: in addition, he chooses stones that are full of colour and intriguing texture. He is blessed, because the area of northern Zimbabwe where he lives has such varied and interesting geology.

This particular piece of stone really has the WOW factor! Amazingly, the swirling rainbow of colours in the stone is entirely natural. ‘Flower serpentine’ is so-named after its striking colouration, as bright and varied as a bunch of flowers. Gorgeous!
