“The movement around the central hole means there is a chance of breaking out and upwards.”

Willard is saying, essentially, that you should always be alert to any opportunity that presents itself, be ready to take advantage and hopefully improve your situation.

Willard’s use of simple flowing lines keeps the sculpture feeling fluid and uncluttered. As a result, we can enjoy the bold form of the piece and the incredible internal composition of the stone.

The colours in the stone are entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.

The lines you can see are part of the natural stone, created when the serpentine formed under great heat and pressure – they are not cracks or lines of weakness.

This sculpture is in the UK and will be shipped from there; P&P at buyer’s expense.
