The taller part [the front in the main image] is the husband. Conversely, the smaller rounded part [the back] is the wife. She is resting her head on his chest, and he leans over her protectively.
It’s incredible how much tender emotion Munyaradzi manages to convey via what is, let’s face it, a very abstract form. However, this is the joy of contemporary Zimbabwean sculpture at its best.
