Racing Horse is an absolutely stunning almost cubist sculpture. The horse’s head lifts upwards, with its mane flying in the air, giving the sense of speed. Combined with the gorgeous cream and green ‘butter jade’ stone, this is something really special.

‘Butter jade’ is the local Zimbabwean name for this beautiful and extremely hard variety of stone (usually cream and pale green). Actually, it is not jade, nor is it serpentine: in fact, it seems to be related to agate.
