This is a really wonderful work by Claud Nyanhongo, who is a very highly regarded first-generation Shona sculptor and father to a number of accomplished sculptors including Agnes Nyanhongo, one of Zimbabwe’s best-known women sculptors. Pieces by Claud do not come onto the secondary market very often, so this is a very special opportunity for a collector to own a piece of African art history.
It comes with certificates of authenticity and full provenance tracing the path from artist through gallery/exhibitions to the current owner. It is an absolutely genuine artwork by this great name in Shona sculpture.
