It is with great sadness that we have to announce that senior artist Edward Chiwawa passed away last night. The 'first generation' of Shona sculptors has lost one of its great names, and the Shona sculpture community is in mourning.
Guruve’s sister gallery, the Shona Sculpture Gallery, finally opened its gates to the public in March 2016 after three years of preparation. With a delightful sculpture garden and a Spanish-style verandah for smaller works, we are already getting great reviews on TripAdvisor. A much-needed positive development for the art movement and artists on the ground in Zimbabwe!
