It is with great sadness that we have to announce that senior artist Edward Chiwawa passed away last night. The 'first generation' of Shona sculptors has lost one of its great names, and the Shona sculpture community is in mourning.

We are delighted that senior sculptor Sylvester Mubayi was chosen to represent Zimbabwe at the 2017 Venice Biennale. Sylvester was one of four artists whose work filled the Zimbabwe Pavilion.
