Edward was one of Zimbabwe’s last remaining ‘first-generation’ sculptors from the Shona sculpture art movement until his death in October 2022. Springstone is a hard variety of serpentine stone. It is dense, with small grains and a uniform internal structure with very few flaws. Because of this, it is a perfect sculpture medium.
