Nesbert Mukomberanwa is one of the most talented names in the contemporary scene of Zimbabwe’s stone sculpture movement, commonly known as Shona Sculpture. He is the nephew of the most respected artist in Shona sculpture, Nicholas Mukomberanwa.

‘Leopard rock’ is the local Zimbabwean name for a very hard variety of serpentine stone, usually green with black spots. It is a particularly good sculpture medium, as it has a very even internal structure of small grains of rock. It’s fine for display outdoors as well as indoors.
