Guruve's most popular artist Willard Bopoto has bought an estate car with the money he received from Guruve.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that senior artist Edward Chiwawa passed away last night. The 'first generation' of Shona sculptors has lost one of its great names, and the Shona sculpture community is in mourning.

The world-famous Chelsea Flower Show has been cancelled this year, like so many other things. The Royal Horticultural Society will be creating a virtual Chelsea Flower Show during show week.

We are delighted that senior sculptor Sylvester Mubayi was chosen to represent Zimbabwe at the 2017 Venice Biennale. Sylvester was one of four artists whose work filled the Zimbabwe Pavilion. Logistical and financial support came from the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. Guruve’s sister gallery, the Shona Sculpture Gallery, finally opened its gates to the public in March 2016 after three years of preparation. With a delightful sculpture garden and a Spanish-style verandah for smaller works, we are already getting great reviews on TripAdvisor. A much-needed positive development for the art movement and artists on the ground in Zimbabwe!
