Willard’s use of simple flowing lines allows us to enjoy the elegant form of the piece and the incredible internal colour of the medium.

Another delightful artwork from Willard, who was one of Guruve’s most popular artists last year.

This is quite a flat sculpture and, unusually for an abstract form, has a very clear front and back. Therefore, it would be perfect for a shallow alcove or shelf where it is seen from the front only. Alternatively, place it on a windowsill where it can be seen from either side.

This particular variety of serpentine stone, with small stripes, is especially hard and rings with a metallic sound when struck with a punch. The colours in the stone are entirely natural, merely enhanced by the application of a coat of clear wax.
